Description
M41 Tropical cap, tropenmütze or Afrikamütze. Project that took many weeks to be finished. Insignia was custom made, copied straight from my originals, fabric is early post war, thick, olive cotton. Seller from Germany wanted to sell it for big money as original, color and weave is very close to real thing, but Im sure it is post war.
Dimensions, insignia, sewing, visor shape(different from woolen M43), color of grommets, red plain weave lining - everything based on original.
Caps by Schlesische Mutzenfabrik are known for their high fronts, their insignia application - hand sewn, eagle and cockarde. Those caps are known by some collectors as Frankensteins, after their place of manufacturer Frankenstein in Silesia, now - Ząbkowice Śląskie (POLAND)
